These long handled tools are used to incorporate soil amendments. Compost, rock dust, limestone, gypsum in fact any soil additive or fertiliser should always be incorporated into the top 50 millimetes of the soil. It is here that they do the most good and cannot be burned off by the sun. By working the cultivator back and forth gently and shallowly the job gets done without damaging the soil structure.
We carry three cultivators - a heavy robust three-tined cultivator, its smaller lighter cousin and a four- tined cultivator or Rake Hoe.
