They have been selected out of the large number available by careful trialling in the "Allsun Farm" vegetable gardens.

These hoes are all light, easy-to-use and can be sharpened for added accuracy.

Hoeing is one job which many gardeners dislike but with the choice of the appropriate implement, and good timing, much of the druggery can be eliminated.

All long handled hoes need to be tailored to the individual user. The ideal length of handle is one that brings the total tool length to between the nose and the mouth with both the tool and the user standing upright. If it's too long don't be afraid to cut off any extra after all it's just extra weight you have to carry around.

Another light cultivating hoe. Like the Gung Hoe the French Wire Weeder is a draw not a chopping hoe, a razor not an axe.
To be effective it needs to be used almost before the weeds appear.
Hold the handle with both thumbs up (as in the picture) and draw it towards you in short, quick, shallow strokes keeping the blade just below the surface of the soil. Works equally well in both right and left hand positions.

Oscillating Stirrup Hoes are used in a different way in that the hoe handle is held with either both thumbs up (see picture) or for a stronger action with both thumbs down .
They are sturdy and sharp and are used with a push-pull motion which cuts on both the forward and backward stroke using short, quick. shallow strokes just below the surface of the soil.
They come in three different widths to accommodate different row widths. (180 mm, 135 mm, and 85 mm)

Trapezoid Hoes are the tool for those who haven't got their timing right and are faced with a large weed burden.

They come in 180 mm and 130 mm widths and have a robust, sharp, replaceable spring steel blade. We carry replacements.

With their goose neck shank they can be used as either a draw or chopping hoe.
