There was only one week between lessons 1 and 2 so Mike and I spent some time in the garden working it up into a number of beds. The children had already done some of the heavy work and we thought that it was better to get them to put some plants in the ground rather than have them rebel because there seemed to be unending digging and shovelling.

We only had a short time in the garden because the classroom work had taken up almost all of the lesson so we simply planted a packet of dwarf peas.
