Cultivators

These long handled tools are used to incorporate soil amendments.

Things like compost, rock dust, limestone, gypsum or in fact any soil additive or fertiliser - should always be incorporated into the top 50 millimetes of the soil. It is here that these amendments do the most good and cannot be burned off by the sun.

By working the cultivator back and forth using a gentle and shallow motion the job gets done without damaging the soil structure.

We carry two cultivators - a heavy robust three-tined cultivator and a four-tined cultivator or Rake Hoe.
